Welcome to Little Joys! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Little Joys mobile application ("App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Little Joys, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Little Joys is a personal gratitude journaling application that allows you to:

  • Record moments of joy and gratitude
  • Attach photos to your entries
  • Revisit past memories
  • Create video compilations of your entries
  • Customize your experience with themes

3. User Content

3.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to the content you create within Little Joys, including your notes, photos, and any other materials ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for your User Content.

3.2 Content Storage

Your User Content is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to, and cannot retrieve, your content. You are responsible for backing up your content.

3.3 Acceptable Use

While your content remains private and local, you agree not to use the App in any way that:

  • Violates any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringes on the rights of others
  • Attempts to interfere with the App's functionality
  • Attempts to reverse engineer or extract source code from the App

4. Subscription and Purchases

4.1 Little Joys+ Subscription

Little Joys offers an optional premium subscription ("Little Joys+") with additional features. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account and automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

4.2 Pricing

Subscription prices are displayed in the App and may vary by region. Prices may change, but changes will not affect active subscription periods.

4.3 Free Trial

We may offer free trial periods. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged for the subscription. Unused portions of free trials are forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.

4.4 Cancellation and Refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policies.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Rights

The App, including its design, features, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App.

5.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your information. By using the App, you agree to our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any content

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or content
  • Loss of profits or revenue
  • Device damage or malfunction
  • Any damages arising from your use of the App

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Data Loss

Since your content is stored locally on your device, we cannot guarantee the preservation of your data. You acknowledge that:

  • Deleting the App will delete all your content
  • Device damage, loss, or malfunction may result in data loss
  • You are solely responsible for backing up your content

10. Updates and Changes

10.1 App Updates

We may update the App from time to time. Some updates may be required for continued use. Updates may change or remove features.

10.2 Terms Updates

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by other means. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App will be resolved in the appropriate courts.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Little Joys regarding your use of the App.

16. Apple-Specific Terms

If you are using the App on an Apple device, the following additional terms apply:

  • These Terms are between you and Little Joys, not Apple Inc.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
  • Apple is not responsible for any claims related to the App
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms
